Adopt the Program
As a visitor to the Heart-Healthy Firefighter Program web site, you already know how important a heart-healthy lifestyle is for yourself, your department, and your family. Take the next step to ensuring you and your department members stay strong - adopt the program.

By adopting the program at the department level, you and your fellow first responders are making a commitment to embark on a healthy lifestyle and keep your hearts and bodies strong by sticking with the program. When you adopt the program, you will have access to special resources and tools from the Heart-Healthy Firefighter Program to ensure you have everything you need to succeed.

This portion of the web site allows you to adopt the program by registering or logging in using the Sign In options to the left. First time registrants will be asked to create a brief profile and take a pledge to focus on their health. Registrants must link themselves to their departments - if your department is not currently registered, you can register your department by clicking on the Sign Up For Department button at the left and creating a customized department page. Once a department is registered, personnel from that department can then register themselves using the Sign Up For Firefighter option at the left and linking themselves to their department.

Once you have registered to adopt the program, you will have access to special features to help you get and stay heart-healthy, including the Fired Up For Fitness Challenge and a message board to connect you to other health conscious firefighters from across the country, and much more.

If you have any questions about adopting the program, registering, or any of the resources provided, please contact the National Volunteer Fire Council at 1-888-ASK-NVFC (275-6832) or nvfcoffice@nvfc.org.
