You know how important a heart-healthy lifestyle is for yourself, your department, and your family. You have used the resources and information available through the Heart-Healthy Firefighter Program to learn more about how to keep your heart strong. Now it’s time to take the next step - adopt the Heart-Healthy Firefighter Program. By adopting the program at the department level, you and your fellow first responders are making a commitment to embark on a healthy lifestyle and keep your hearts and bodies strong. The NVFC has launched a new component to the web site that allows you to take the pledge to focus on health and access the tools and resources you need to succeed. Register now for the Adopt the Program initiative to access information, tools, and resources that will help you and your department get and stay heart-healthy. Each registered department has its own page that allows personnel to participate in the Fired Up For Fitness Challenge, post success stories and photos, access advice and guidance, find tools to make healthy living even easier, and utilize many other resources. In addition, adopting the program connects you to a network of first responders from across the country who have also made the commitment to become heart-healthy. Utilize the forum feature to ask questions and share best practices and tips. To adopt the program and take the Fired Up For Fitness Challenge, go to the Heart-Healthy Firefighter web site and click on Adopt the Program. _____________________________________
