2011 National Firefighter Health Week Themes Announced |

Each August, the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) asks firefighters and emergency personnel nationwide to take a week to focus on their health and wellness during National Firefighter Health Week. As a first responder, you have to be ready for the next call that comes in, and being at your best mentally and physically are the best tools for the job. As this year’s theme states: “When it comes to your health, you’re always on duty.” This year’s National Firefighter Health Week will be held August 14-20. Sunday and Saturday have been added to further help firefighters and EMTs achieve their goals for personal and department health and to make sure that all duty shifts have the opportunity to participate.
