INGREDIENTS:
4 large apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
2½ cups fresh or frozen cranberries
¾ cup sugar
¼ cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp apple pie spice*
1 prepared pie crust (if using frozen, thaw first)
*If you do not have access to pre-mixed apple pie spice, use the following recipe:
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1/4 teaspoons ground nutmeg
• 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
• 1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
DIRECTIONS:
-
Stir all ingredients except crust together in a medium sized mixing bowl and place in a 10-inch deep dish pie pan.
-
Place one pie crust on top of the fruits in the pan. Cut 3 or 4 slits to allow the steam to escape. If using frozen pie crust, you may need to trim and flatten the edges of the crust for a proper fit.
-
Bake at 375 degrees for about an hour. Serve warm. Refrigerate any leftovers.
